Remote Work Remains a Top Employee Perk in 2025

Flexibility is non-negotiable illustration

Remote and hybrid job opportunities continue to expand, with nearly 40% of all new positions advertised in Q1 2025 offering some level of flexibility. Research published by Robert Half shows that employers seeking skilled professionals are increasingly using remote options to stand out in a competitive hiring market.

According to Robert Half’s “Demand for Skilled Talent” report, 29% of professionals are actively seeking new roles in the first half of 2025, primarily driven by flexible work arrangements. The study notes that nearly half (48%) of job seekers prefer hybrid roles and 26% prefer fully remote positions, placing flexibility at the top of their wish list.

These figures demonstrate that remote work has shifted from being a temporary perk to an expectation.

Flexibility boosts talent attraction and retention

The benefits of offering remote options are clear for employers: access to a broader talent pool, improved employee retention, and enhanced job satisfaction. Robert Half’s data indicates that 76% of workers say having flexibility in when and where they work significantly influences their loyalty to an employer—a powerful metric in today’s tight labor market.

Remote work varies by role and seniority

Senior-level professionals enjoy the most remote opportunities: 31% of newly listed senior roles are hybrid and 15% fully remote. Meanwhile, mid- and entry-level positions show 24% hybrid and 13% remote, and 18% hybrid and 10% remote, respectively. This demonstrates that flexibility isn’t limited to leadership positions—it’s increasingly available across all career stages.

Employers commit to supporting hybrid teams

To support successful remote/hybrid models, many employers are implementing training for managers and employees to run effective virtual meetings and manage teams across locations. This shift toward remote-savvy professional environments aims to sustain productivity, culture, and employee well‑being as flexible work becomes standard.
