MSI has opened pre-orders for the Prestige N16 Flip AI+, a 16-inch convertible laptop powered by NVIDIA RTX Spark. The system can be configured with up to 128GB of unified memory and up to a 20-core RTX Spark N1X, giving developers and creators a new 2-in-1 option for larger local AI workloads.
MSI’s new 2-in-1 is built around local AI
The Prestige N16 Flip AI+ is MSI’s first laptop built around NVIDIA’s RTX Spark platform. Unlike conventional laptops that separate system RAM and dedicated GPU memory, the RTX Spark design combines an NVIDIA Grace CPU and Blackwell GPU with a shared unified-memory architecture.
MSI is positioning the laptop for developers, creators and professionals who want to run larger AI workloads locally while still having a conventional Windows 11 system for productivity, creation and gaming.
The system is available with up to 128GB of unified memory, while the highest configuration uses an RTX Spark N1X with a 20-core CPU and 6,144-core Blackwell GPU. MSI also lists configurations with a 5,120-core GPU and 18-core CPU.
Why does 128GB of unified memory matter for AI?
The main advantage is memory capacity for workloads that can benefit from keeping larger AI models in memory.
MSI says the laptop is designed to support larger local LLMs, AI agents and other demanding AI workloads. The company specifically positions the 128GB configuration for larger models, deeper context and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workloads.
However, 128GB of unified memory does not automatically mean every large AI model will run well. Actual performance will depend on the model, quantization, context size, software support and the workload itself.
What hardware does the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ have?
MSI offers the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ with two 16-inch OLED display options. The higher-end version uses a 3840 × 2400 UHD+ Tandem OLED touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate, while another configuration uses a 2880 × 1800 OLED panel with 30–120Hz variable refresh.
The laptop also includes a 99.9Wh battery, Wi-Fi 7, two USB4 Type-C ports, two USB-A ports, HDMI 2.1 and an SD card reader. It weighs 1.9kg and measures between 13.9mm and 16.9mm thick.
The 360-degree hinge and optional MSI Nano Pen make it different from conventional workstation or gaming laptops built around similar AI hardware.
Can it run AI locally?
Yes, MSI specifically designed the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ for local AI workloads.
The company says its RTX Spark platform can provide up to 1 petaflop of FP4 AI performance and up to 128GB of unified memory. MSI also highlights CUDA support and local AI agents as part of the system’s intended use.
That makes the laptop particularly interesting for developers experimenting with local models, creators using AI-assisted applications and professionals who want more AI processing to happen on the device.
Those figures are manufacturer specifications rather than independent benchmark results, so real-world performance remains to be tested.
Is the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ available now?
MSI says the Prestige N16 Flip AI+ is now available for pre-order through MSI-certified partners in select markets, with availability varying by region.
MSI has also announced an early-bird promotion for eligible purchases, although the exact offer and dates depend on the market.
The Japanese launch, for example, lists the laptop for release in late October 2026, while MSI’s regional stores show different availability schedules.
What does this mean for AI laptops?
The Prestige N16 Flip AI+ is an interesting example of how high-memory local AI hardware is moving beyond traditional desktop-replacement workstations.
A 2-in-1 laptop with up to 128GB of unified memory could appeal to users who want one machine for AI development, creative work, presentations and everyday productivity rather than carrying separate systems.
The bigger question is how useful that memory capacity will be in real workloads. Independent testing of local LLMs, AI image and video generation, coding agents and other demanding applications will be more revealing than the specifications alone.
What happens next?
The Prestige N16 Flip AI+ is now entering the retail stage, giving reviewers and users an opportunity to test what RTX Spark can actually do inside a relatively thin convertible laptop.
For LaptopHub readers, the key things to watch are real-world AI performance, thermals, battery life under AI workloads, model compatibility and the value of the 128GB configuration.
